Colonel Nicholas Talbot is a US Army 2024-2025 Fellow at the MIT Security Studies Program. Nick was commissioned as an Armor officer through Cornell University ROTC in 2002.  As a company-grade officer he led Soldiers in 2nd Cavalry Regiment and 173rd Airborne Brigade in support to both Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.  After troop command, he was an Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Life Sciences at the United States Military Academy.

Following the Command and General Staff College, Nick served in command and operational leadership roles in the 1st Cavalry Division, 1st Infantry Division, and United Nations Command / Combined Forces Command / United States Forces Korea.  Nick most recently served as the Senior Brigade Observer / Controller at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center at Hohenfels, Germany supporting Operation Trident Ready.
Nick’s awards include the Bronze Star Medal (with “V” and 3 OLC), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (with 4 OLC), and Ranger Tab.

Colonel Nick Talbot holds an undergraduate degree from Cornell University and a Master of Science degree from RPI. He and Jordan, his wife of eighteen years, have been blessed with a wonderful daughter, Ainsley, who is nine.
