The Jack Ruina Nuclear Age Dinner, an annual event hsoted by the MIT Security Studies Program, took place on February 25, 2013 at the Hotel Marlowe. The dinner series was endowed by Professor Jack Ruina, MIT Professor Emeritus of Electrical Engineering and former Director of the MIT Security Studies Program. The dinner features a prominent speaker to present on one of Professor Ruina's major professional interests: nuclear weapons strategy and policy.
The guest for the 2013 Ruina Dinner was Sir Lawrence Freedman, Vice-Principal (Strategy & Development) at King's College, London, UK. Professor Freedman spoke on the topic "Can Nuclear Taboo Last?" Approximately 50 members of the SSP faculty, students, and staff attended the dinner.
